Distinguished Visiting Fellows

The Institute houses Fordham’s Visiting Distinguished Professorial & Judicial Fellows Program. Under the program, prominent members of the IP community visit the School for a week, during which time they teach classes, meet with students, deliver a public lecture, and lunch with faculty and friends of the School.

In 2008, the inaugural Fellow was Prof. Valentine Korah, Emeritus Professor of Competition Law at University College, London, and Honorary Professor at the College of Europe in Bruges. Her lecture was entitled “The European Union Microsoft Judgment: What is its International Significance?"

In 2009, our Fellow was Chief Judge Paul R. Michel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. His talk was entitled "Innovation Incentives, Competition, and Patent Law Reform: Should Congress Fix the Patent Office and Leave Litigation Management to the Courts?" For a detailed biography of Judge Michel, click here. For the transcript of Judge Michel's address, click here.

The program was underwritten by a generous grant from Cooper & Dunham LLP. Anyone seeking to sponsor a Professorial Fellow should contact Sandra Sherman at ssherman@law.fordham.edu or (212) 636 – 7177.
